Disney Cruise Report by Agent Alice Karberg

Castaway Cay , Disney Cruise , Small World Vacations , Small World Vacations Agent Education

I was thrilled to have the chance to experience a 3 night Bahamian Cruise aboard the Disney Wonder during an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner travel agent education program from September 8 – 12, 2010.  Pictured here are myself and my fellow Small World Vacations agents, Sydney, Amber and Mary. My family and I were already vacationing in Walt Disney World, so I didn’t feel TOO bad about leaving them behind for a few days! Researching the Disney Cruise is a tough job.....

After touring some rooms and suites at a few Walt Disney World Resort hotels, we were treated to a wonderful dinner and dessert party at Epcot and enjoyed Illuminations from a private viewing area.  Early the next morning we had a character breakfast with Minnie and friends at Cape May Café, and then boarded our Disney Cruise Line motor coach for the trip to Port Canaveral.

We were able to board the ship a little early to tour all of the stateroom categories including the fabulous 2 Bedroom Walter E. Disney Suite! After getting pumped up at the Sail-Away Celebration and that evening’s musical show, we dined at Palo and experienced top-notch food and service. I highly recommend making advanced reservations for this exclusive restaurant located on Deck 10.

My travel mates had made pre-arrangements with Disney Cruise Line for a birthday cake and festive Disney birthday decorations for our stateroom, which was a lovely surprise for me!  Our deluxe ocean-view stateroom with a verandah was remarkably spacious and the split bathroom was very convenient when getting ready in the morning.

Our first port of call was Nassau, but another agent, Sydney and I chose to stay on the ship and experience the Vista Spa for a very relaxing afternoon.  It was difficult to decide which of the many different spa treatment options to choose!

The food was abundant and delicious, the shows were Broadway-caliber, but my absolute favorite part of the cruise was the day spent on Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island.  With separate beaches for families, teens and adults-only, a children’s program area, Disney characters and activities galore, there is truly something for everyone here.

Three nights aboard the Disney Wonder passed much too quickly and there were so many different activities from which to choose, it was impossible to see and do everything on one cruise.  You know what that means….I’ll be back!!
