Meet the Minions at Universal Orlando’s Despicable Me Character Breakfast

The characters of Despicable Me are a family favorite. And running around the house speaking “Minionese” is a fun activity for many children, including my trio.

So, when we had the chance to have breakfast with the Minions, Gru and the girls at Universal Orlando’s new Despicable Me Character Breakfast at Loews Royal Pacific Resort, I couldn’t wait to see how the kiddos would react.

When arriving at Royal Pacific, we headed to the Tahitian room, just next to the conference area of the hotel.

We sat down at our reserved table to take in a huge breakfast buffet of hot and cold items including pancakes, bacon, eggs and potatoes, an array of baked goods and the kids’ favorite cereals.

This, of course, was the highlight of the morning. My oldest took it with ease, catching up with the Minions like they were her oldest friends.

Minion & Kid Breakfast Cropped 2My middle was starstruck that they were right in front of Gru, and truly had a shy-like awe about him. My youngest was just ecstatic—squealing, laughing and high-fiving them as if they were her favorite playmates.

The character breakfast was the perfect length of time for the kids’ attention span, about an hour long. It not only got us ready for a day in the parks by properly filling our bellies, but the kids had a personal meeting with their favorite characters—a double win for mommy.

The Despicable Me Character Breakfast is currently available at Loews Royal Pacific Resort each Saturday, with three seating times available at 8:00 am, 9:30 am and 11:00 am.

Tickets are available online, at the hotels’ concierge desks, or by calling 407–503–(DINE). Your ticket includes breakfast and a non-alcoholic beverage.

Breakfast isn’t the only meal you can enjoy with your favorite Universal Orlando characters. You can grab dinner with Marvel Super Heroes at Cafe 4 in Marvel Super Hero Island at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Thursday – Sunday, from 5p.m. – 7p.m. Reservations are recommended and can be made online or by calling (407) 224-FOOD (3663).
