Head Off to the Races at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort!

On your mark, get set, go…to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa! This charming, Victorian-style resort pays homage to the historic town of Saratoga Springs in upstate New York known for horse racing and mineral springs. As soon as you arrive, you feel transported to an early 1900’s retreat. Surrounded by lush green golf courses, winding waterways and Lake Buena Vista, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa is a serene and restful get away.

Guests check-in at the Carriage House where a vintage carousel horse is the centerpiece in a beautiful barn-style atrium. Colorful paintings behind the front desk depict horse racing scenes that evoke the nostalgia of a bygone era. In homage to its historic namesake in Saratoga Springs, New York, the resort’s motto is “Health, History, Horses.”

Disney Vacation Villas are tucked into three-story buildings spread across the vast, 65-acre property. The soft-pastel colored pink, blue, yellow or green buildings are nestled upon rolling hills and separated into five equestrian-themed sections: The Grandstand, The Carousel, The Paddock, The Springs and Congress Park. Guest rooms in the Springs and Congress Park section are categorized as “Preferred Rooms.” The Springs section is located close to the Carriage House, dining, marketplace, bus stops and the main swimming pool. Villas in the Congress Park section are just a leisurely 10-15 minute stroll to the shops, dining and entertainment at Disney Springs.

There is something to suit every party size. Intricate woodwork, finely polished furnishings, and trademark floral patterns are found at every turn. Listen as you stroll the hallways, you may even hear the sound of trumpets signaling the start of a horse race!

There is one last lodging option at this resort that is totally unique and would give any vacation an adventurous twist. Imagine the look on your children’s faces when you tell them you are staying in a Treehouse Villa! You read that right – a Treehouse elevated 10 feet above the ground. Each villa features three separate bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have a Queen bed and one also has bunkbeds, as well as a Queen sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair in the living room. The units have two bathrooms, an open kitchen with a granite counter with seating for three and separate table with seating for six. Saratoga Springs is a welcome retreat; it’s open and airy, spread out and peaceful. If you prefer some more lively activity, the close proximity to Disney Springs provides you with unparalleled access to high-end dining, shopping and entertainment.

There’s no shortage of recreational activities at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. Surrounded on three sides by a golf course, it’s the only Disney resort with direct access to the links. For some outdoor fun, hit the jogging trails, shoot some hoops on the basketball court or practice your forehand on the tennis court. Bike rentals and guided fishing-excursions are the perfect activity for a day “off” from theme-park fun. There are also campfire activities, movies under the stars and sunrise yoga.

At the Paddock Pool, whoosh down a 146-foot-long waterslide or chill in a horseshoe-shaped whirlpool spa. The kids will love the 2 miniature waterslides built just for them. At High Rock Spring Pool, the main pool, you’ll find cascading waterfalls, a zero-depth entry point and a waterslide built into the rocks. Children can splash through geysers at the Donald Duck play area and shoot down the pint-sized waterslide. After your day at the races, swim on up to The Paddock Grill. This poolside quick-service venue serves breakfast favorites in the morning and burgers, fish tacos and salads in the afternoon. If it’s a specialty beverage you’re after, On the Rocks and Backstretch Pool Bar will suit your tastes.

Adults can find pure relaxation at Senses – a Disney Spa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. Inspired by the 19th century wellness retreats of upstate New York, this full-service health club and spa offers a serene environment where you can choose from a selection of therapies and treatments.

With Disney theme parks close by, golf courses galore and a beautiful spa, this resort hits the trifecta for satisfying every family member’s vacation wishes.

Is all this activity making you hungry? The Turf Club Bar & Grill is the resort’s table service restaurant, the perfect spot to unwind after a round of golf. Wood-paneled walls adorned with vintage equestrian memorabilia transport you to another place and another time. Choose from a menu of hearty classic American cuisine including salads, soups, steak and fish.

Inspired by an artist’s loft, The Artist’s Palette quick service restaurant will splash a bit of culinary color into your day. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the family can nosh on made-to-order sandwiches, wraps, salads, pizza and market groceries.
