Disney Discovery Reef: Upscale Dining Experiences Inspired by the Water and Sky Aboard the Disney Adventure

This intimate, open-air gathering space houses a variety of quick service dining, bar and café venues

SINGAPORE (Oct. 16, 2024) – At Disney Discovery Reef on the Disney Adventure, families will play, shop and dine in an ethereal and ever-changing retreat evoking favorite aquatic characters and nautical stories from Disney and Pixar, including “The Little Mermaid,” “Lilo and Stitch,” “Finding Nemo” and “Luca.” This vibrant outdoor hub will be located toward the back of the ship and open to the sky and stars seven decks above.

Disney Discovery Reef will be a celebration of the relationship between water and sky, an intimate, open-air gathering space that immerses guests in dazzling colors and striking seascapes of a vibrant coral reef. During the day, the grotto will be awash in soft sunlight filtered through colored glass canopies inspired by concept art for Pixar’s “Finding Nemo.” At night, the space will be theatrically lit to create an otherworldly, incandescent environment. Select staterooms surrounding the area will offer alluring views of Disney Discovery Reef throughout the day and night.

This area will be home to a variety of quick service eateries, including a relaxed burger joint, an eclectic boba tea shop and a seriously super kebab restaurant.

Stitch’s ‘Ohana Grill will be a quick service diner dishing up burgers, sandwiches and other classic American fare, perfect for guests looking to chill out and refuel. Inspired by the Hawaiian setting of Disney Animation’s “Lilo and Stitch,” this casual eatery will exude the relaxed, friendly vibes of North Shore surf culture at a chill beach-style hangout decked out with surf boards and raffia grass details.

At Bewitching Boba and Brews, guests will sip on popular bubble teas and other wickedly delicious concoctions. Vibrant pop art and bright neon lights will adorn this eclectic, quick service café, where Ursula, the sea witch from Disney Animation’s “The Little Mermaid,” will be prominently featured.

Inspired by Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel,” the quick-service restaurant Cosmic Kebabs will offer a flavorful menu of pitas and kebabs.

The Gateway to Premier Dining Experiences

Disney Discovery Reef will also be the gateway to several of the Disney Adventure’s most refined and premier experiences.

Guests aboard the Disney Adventure will venture to the streets of a fantastical seaside village where a host of premium epicurean experiences await. Located between Disney Discovery Reef and Wayfinder Bay, this charming, open-air breezeway will be home to the ship’s premier dining venues, Palo Trattoria and Mike & Sulley’s – Flavors of Asia, along with a specialty café and an upscale sports bar. Gourmet dining at Palo Trattoria and Mike & Sulley’s will be available by reservation for an additional charge.

Palo Trattoria will be an elegant, upscale restaurant offering exquisite Italian fare and superlative service where adults will indulge in a menu of antipasti, pastas, pizzas, seafood, steaks and more, along with a selection of the finest Italian wines and bold craft beers. The venue will be inspired by a celestial dream sequence featured in Pixar’s “Luca” — sparkling constellations, romantic moons and solar system inspired adornments will create a dreamy atmosphere befitting an out-of-this-world dining experience.

Palo Café, a warm and inviting venue on the cobblestone patio of Palo Trattoria, will be inspired by the seaside Italian town of Portorosso in the Pixar film “Luca.” This quaint coffee bar will serve up a variety of espresso and coffee drinks and light bites throughout the day in an idyllic atmosphere.

Situated on an open-air balcony overlooking the space between Disney Discovery Reef and Wayfinder Bay, Taverna Portorosso will be an intimate and picturesque sports bar where guests can have a drink and watch a game. Also inspired by “Luca,” the decor will recall that of a rustic neighborhood bar in the seaside Italian town of Portorosso with weathered wood and exposed brick detailing, well-loved furnishings, and even a bright red Vespa parked right inside.

Celebrating the range of world-renowned Asian cuisine, Mike & Sulley’s – Flavors of Asia will be a premier dining establishment offering four distinct experiences: a full-service Japanese steakhouse, a lively teppanyaki room, a chic bar with an Omakase-style dining, and outdoor sushi and sashimi offerings. The restaurant will be a sophisticated take on the famous Japanese-style eatery featured in Pixar’s “Monsters, Inc.” with an elevated design combining authentic architectural details with playful nods to the film and characters.
