Lunar New Year at Disney California Adventure Park 2025 Fact Sheet

Lunar New Year returns to Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, Calif., from Jan. 17 through Feb. 16, 2025. ANAHEIM, Calif. – Disneyland Resort welcomes the return of the Lunar New Year multicultural and multiethnic celebration at Disney California Adventure Park, Jan. 17 through Feb. 16, 2025. A tribute to Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean traditions, the limited-time event rings in the Year of the Snake with food and beverages inspired by Asian cuisine, entertainment and more. Paradise Gardens at Disney California Adventure Park is adorned in brilliant red and gold, symbolizing good luck, health and prosperity. Asian-inspired menu items with a Disney twist

Six Lunar New Year marketplaces and select dining locations at Disney California Adventure Park offer an array of dishes and beverages inspired by Asian cuisines, prepared with a uniquely Disney twist. Among the flavorful new selections this year are:

  • Pho dip from Wrapped with Love: rice noodles, sliced beef, shaved jalapeños, pickled onions and pho broth
  • Tropical coconut cooler from Longevity Noodle Co.: coconut cream, coconut milk, house-made jackfruit syrup, dragon fruit syrup and lychee nectar and cherry juices, garnished with mango coconut foam and rainbow jellies (nonalcoholic)
  • Scallion pancake tostada from Studio Catering Co.: fried scallion pancake, bulgogi beef, kimchi aïoli and spicy scallion salad
  • Legend of the Ten Spices flatbread from Pym Test Kitchen: kung pao beef, sesame spread, toasted bok choy and napa cabbage, served with onion-cilantro salad garnished with heirloom radish and chile threads

 

Guests can save on their culinary adventure with the purchase of a scannable Sip and Savor Pass**, which includes six digital coupons that can be redeemed for select food or nonalcoholic beverages from participating marketplaces and select dining locations in Disney California Adventure Park. New this year, Sip and Savor Pass will feature one of three designs by artist Ann Shen that pay homage to Chinese, Korean or Vietnamese cultures. A Sip and Savor Pass can be shared among friends and family or used over multiple visits to this year’s Lunar New Year celebration.

Special, themed novelties, such as the Lunar New Year stainless steel tumbler featuring artwork by Ann Shen, are available for purchase while supplies last.

The Hotels of the Disneyland Resort and Downtown Disney District add to the celebration with limited-time offerings at Hearthstone Lounge, Craftsman Bar & Grill, The Coffee House, Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio, Vista Parkside Market, Din Tai Fung and others.

 

Entertainment, art and more

  • Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will dress in all-new outfits representing traditional Korean attire.
  • Meilin Lee and her mother Ming Lee from Pixar Animation Studios’ “Turning Red” return to ring in the new year at the pathway between Grizzly Peak and Paradise Gardens Park. They love observing Chinese traditions together, and 13-year-old Meilin is so excited that she has begun to turn into her Red Panda form.
  • Mushu from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Mulan” leads the way, joined by spirited performers, in “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession,” which honors family, friendship and the potential for a fortune-filled year.
  • The “Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration” nighttime water short performs on Paradise Bay shortly before “World of Color – ONE.” Set to a stirring musical score by Academy Award®-winning composer Tan Dun, it tells the story of a little lantern’s quest to reunite with family for the annual celebration of good luck and fortune.
  • The Paradise Garden Bandstand and Sonoma Terracepresent an exciting rotation of daily live performances that celebrate Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures through music and dance. Featured acts include Korean a cappella group Vocal Seoul and traditional Chinese musician Jie Ma.
  • Additional daily festivities at Paradise Gardens include sharing messages of happiness on the Lunar New Year Wishing Wall, plus Chinese calligraphy demonstrations by local artisans.
  • Every day during the festival, Disney characters are scheduled to appear at the gazebo in Paradise Gardens for photo opportunities and greetings. Guests may encounter Mulan and Mushu, Goofy, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
  • Complimentary festival crafts will be available on the Performance Corridor, across from Golden Vine House – A Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home Center.
  • Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa marks the occasion with a confectionery display in the Great Hall. At select times, guests may also catch live performance groups on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays, or “Story Time with Mulan” on Mondays and Saturdays.
  • Overnight hotel guests can book a Tai Chi fitness class by Tenaya Stone Spa at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for an additional fee. For more details, guests can visit Disneyland.com.
  • This year’s Lunar New Year: Year of the Snake merchandise collection will incorporate special motifs for Year of the Snake, as well as lantern details that represent each of the three cultures that celebrate Lunar New Year. The collection is available for purchase at Festival Gifts and Elias & Co. at Disney California Adventure Park and Acorns Gifts & Goods at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

 

Additional springtime offerings at Disneyland Resort

Lunar New Year is one of multiple limited-time celebrations guests can experience at a great value with special offers in early 2025. Now through March 20, children ages 3-9 can visit a Disneyland Resort theme park for as low as $50 per child with a special 1-Day, 1-Park ticket with the limited-time Kids’ Special Ticket Offer.*** Eligible Southern California residents can save on visits now through May 15 with a limited-time three-day ticket offer.**** Various offers are also available for overnight stays at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort.
