Agent Blog: Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and French Quarter

by Small World Vacations Agent Jill

When you stay at either Riverside or French Quarter it is like getting two resorts in one.  You can easily walk between the two properties giving you twice the places to eat, things to see and things to do!

Each Resort has its own style and feel so you can choose the one that feels most like you.  Standard amenities at each property include – but are not limited to! – a quick service restaurant, a casual dining restaurant, gift shop with marketplace for basic food items and waterslides at the pool.

Riverside offers room types of Standard View (also 5th Sleeper), Woods View (also 5th Sleeper), King Bed, Pool View, River View, Preferred and a variety of Royal Guest Rooms.  Some rooms at Riverside can accommodate 5 guests pluse one infant under 3 (2 Queen beds and a 30”x60” pull down bunk), other rooms can accommodate 4 guests plus one infant under 3 (2 Queen Beds).

French Quarter offers room types of Standard View, Garden View, River View, King Bed and Pool View.

Riverside has a nostalgic “swimming hole” pool called Ol’ Man Island while French Quarter has New Orleans themed pool “Doubloon Lagoon”. This is one of the few times when you can use the pool at a Resort where you are not registered as a guest – guests of either resort can use both pools!

There are many ways to enjoy your time at the Resort – whether it is simply strolling through the grounds or taking a horse drawn carriage ride or indulging in beignets or participating in Resort arts and crafts or joining in the campfire and marshmallow roasting.

Whether you are more drawn to the river mill styling or the French and Louisiana inspired styling, you will not be disappointed by a stay at Port Orleans Resort – Riverside or French Quarter!
