Face coverings still required for Guests, Cast Members
Face coverings still required for Guests, Cast Members
FROM DISNEY – January 28, 2021
As COVID-19 vaccines begin to roll out around the world, we’re optimistically looking forward to a time in the future when we can once again share smiles with each other in the Disney Parks and Resorts.
At this time, the CDC recommends continuing to practice healthy behaviors while experts learn more about the protection that COVID-19 vaccines provide under real-life conditions. With that in mind, we will continue to require our Cast Members and Guests ages 2 and up to wear face coverings at all times except when actively eating or drinking while stationary and maintaining appropriate physical distancing. We will also continue existing health and safety measures like temperature checks, reduced capacity, physical distancing and increased frequency in cleaning.
In addition, it’s equally important for Cast Members to continue maintaining physical distancing whenever possible, even when wearing required face coverings, and face shields as needed.
The combination of these precautions, and your compliance, is what enables us to keep our theme parks, Disney Springs and select Disney Resort Hotels open in the current environment.
Additionally, to help our Guests, we have clarified that face coverings with clear panels are acceptable if they meet certain requirements. Face coverings may have an integrated transparent plastic panel to aid in viewing the wearer’s mouth. These face coverings must:
- Be a fabric face covering featuring a solid plastic panel containing no openings that is attached to the fabric on all sides using tight knit stitching
- Meet all other face covering requirements
As we’ve shared before, we will keep working with health authorities on many dimensions of health and safety, and we’ll evaluate and adjust our approach as needed in the months to come as we consider their guidance and the recommendations of our team of health experts.
